An Unlucky Moon by Carrie Ann Ryan

An Unlucky Moon (Dante's Circle, #3)An Unlucky Moon by Carrie Ann Ryan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another great story in the Dante's Circle series. I love the connection between Becca and Hunter. She didn't hold a grudge that he left her for months while he tried to put his life in order. The worked well together in getting things fixed in Hunter's pack. And while I can't tell you what Becca turns into after being with her true half, I can tell you that I can't wait until she gets the chanced to help the women of her species. Oh, and we meet the other hero for the next story. I can't wait for the next book!

Dreams of Ivory by Carrie Ann Ryan

Dreams of Ivory (Holiday, Montana, #5)Dreams of Ivory by Carrie Ann Ryan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jackson is perfectly happy being alone and doesn't like the magic that has made its way into his family. Honor has come back to Holiday to start her position as a tooth fairy. This isn't Honor's first time in Holiday, she and Jackson have a past. And her aunt the queen of tooth fairies has kept her up to date on the goings on with the Cooper family.

This is not the last book in the series but it was the last Cooper brother story. It was a sweet story and I loved how Jackson was made to accept the magic in his life.

This is an erotic short story about Olivia and Hunter. Both work at the same gym both have been attracted to each other and neither willing to make the first move. That is until Olivia with the help of her best friend visit the club where Hunter has a second job as bouncer.

I love Cassandra's work and wish there had been more.

I received an eBook copy from the author for purpose of an honest review and was not compensated.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have to say I loved Cassandra Carr's first M/M book! I love how the relationship develops between Jason and Patrick. Patrick being older and more experienced with dealing with hiding his relationships from the hockey community. Jason is just starting out in his hockey career. Watching Patrick and Jason's relationship grow and the struggle of hiding it. What a great story!

Be Bad, for Goodness Sake

Be Bad, for Goodness SakeBe Bad, for Goodness Sake by Tara Lain
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a sweet romance by Tara Lain. This is Tara's first M/F story. I'm not even sure what to say, I wish there were more. This was a quick read (only about 44 pages), but you still get a full story in those pages.

Review Double Vision by Cassandra Carr

Double Vision (Buffalo Intimidators 3)Double Vision by Cassandra Carr
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you have read the first 2 books in the Buffalo Intimidators, you know that the guys on this hockey team like to share their women. Both of the first books the heros have shared women and find the women they want a committed relationship with and the men have to convince the heroine to accept a menage relationship. Well meet two teammates/roommates that do not actively share women. Fredrik is currently dating Liz. They are thinking about adding a third. Liz finds Fredrik's teammate/roommate, Rick "Red", attractive. And picks him as their third. He's a newer member of the team and has set ideas on what a relationship should be. Red is attracted to Liz. After Liz invites him to participate in a little fun with her and Fredrik, Red freaks out. Can Liz and Fredrik convince Red that a menage relationship can work out?
I think seeing a hero struggle with a menage relationship is what grabbed me most about the book. The awkwardness after the first encounter and the guilt he deals with is so touching.
Thanks for another great book Cassandra!

Genetic Celebrity by Tara Lain

Genetic Celebrity (Genetic Attraction #4)Genetic Celebrity by Tara Lain
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Genetic Celebrity is another hit in Tara Lain's Genetic Attraction series. This book was so sweet. Tommy is Roan's business partner and Booky is Roan's agent. If you don't know who Roan is you must read "The Scientist and the Supermodel" and "Genetic Attraction". Tommy is bi and has fallen for Booky. Booky things Tommy is gay so she doesn't ever do anything about her attraction to him. Then Roan discovers Shay when he literally falls to his feet. Tommy is instantly attracted to Shay. Booky feels a strange connection to Shay. Taking the journey as these three discovery their feelings for each other was so sweet. I was ready to cheer out loud when Booky finally learns that Tommy is attracted to her and got her mama's stamp of approval even though he isn't Jewish. And poor Shay who has been on the streets for years. He has never known unconditional love or known what a family is like. His journey to happiness has a few bumps in the road but is well worth it.

Thank you Tara! I love this series and hope there are more coming!

Collision (Buckin' Bull Riders, #2)Collision by Cassandra Carr
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bull riders are hot! Cassandra Carr's Collistion just emphasizes that. Leah is a medal winning figure skater and Brady is a champion bull rider. The same company sponsors both of them and wants Leah to work with Brady on the bull riding tour. Can the King of the Rodeo melt through the Queen of the Ice's heart? Well you'll have to read and find out. I'm looking forward to the next Bull Rider book!

Impact (Buckin' Bull Riders Book 1) by Cassandra Carr

Impact (Buckin' Bull Riders, #1)Impact by Cassandra Carr
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book. The heroine, Jessica, has been reading erotic romance and has taken an interest in BDSM. She starts visiting a club to see if it is something she would be interest in. Who can't related to that? There is a particular Dom that has captured her eye and during a slight altercation the Dom's hood is knocked off and Jessica realizes it is someone she knows, bull rider Conner. Conner doesn't want the people in the bull riding community to no about his preference of being a Dominant. When he sees Jessica is a natural submissive and she works for the NBT, he does his best to stay away.
I loved how Conner struggled to keep his secret and struggles to mesh what he wants in his personal life with his professional career.
There is a lot of oral sex in this book so be warned.

Spell Cat by Tara Lain

Spell CatSpell Cat by Tara Lain

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tara Lain branches into paranormal romance with Spell Cat. Killian is the most powerful male witch to be born in a long time. He is expected to marry within his race and a marriage has been arranged with a powerful female witch. The expectation is they will pass on their power to their children. Slight problem, Killian likes men. Not just any man but a human. According to the teachings of his people mixing it up with humans decreases a witches power. The sparks fly when Killian decides his power can afford the drain of one encounter with the human so he can experience on night on true happiness before he gets married.
This was a good story about a man faced with a choice of true happiness or the obligation to his race.

Cold As Ice by Cassandra Carr

Cold As IceCold As Ice by Cassandra Carr

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cold As Ice is the second book in the Buffalo Intimidators series by Cassandra Carr. And how does she top the first series with Scott, Kelly and Leo. Oh how about adding an third guy. Luc, Jake and Carter, oh my! Eva is one lucky woman! Ok so I really enjoyed seeing Scott, Kelly and Leo. Would have loved to have seen the commitment ceremony between Scott, Kelly & Leo but that isn't relevant. Of the three men, we have two ready to commit. And I love the little tension that goes on. I mean this is a relationship with 3 men, it can be all sunshine and rainbows right? At one point I wanted to smack these men upside the head. The Buffalo Intimidators team are falling ill and Eva told her men to watch their health after starting a new supplement. And do they listen to her, NO! Ugh!

If you like menages this is a great book and if you are not into M/M there is no need to worry there is no M/M in this book. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Fire Balls by Tara Lain

Fire BallsFire Balls by Tara Lain

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tara Lain does it again. If you like M/M romance I recommend this book. Hunter is a gorgeous gay firefighter and doesn't flaunt his sexuality. Rodney is an openly gay artist and flaunts what he's got. Rodney has been lusting after Hunter in secret. Hunter meets Jerry, Rodney's friend and sometimes model, while admiring Rodney's artwork. Jerry is the surfer and asks Rodney to help him woo Hunter. Rodney doesn't think he is good enough for Hunter. But when the firefighter and the artist are forced together during a modeling session, sparks fly. I love Hunter's journey to happiness and acceptance. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Talk to Me by Cassandra Carr

Talk to MeTalk to Me by Cassandra Carr
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cassandra Carr's Talk to Me is a good read.  Finding love in the workplace is something I can relate to.  Although my cubicle has never seen the action that radio studio has.  I was tortured (in a good way, of course)  while Drew learned to break the wall surrounding his heart.

Review of Head Games

Head Games (Buffalo Intimidators, #1)Head Games by Cassandra Carr
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cassandra Carr's Head Games is a great read.  I love reading how this normal girl struggled coming to terms with how a relationship with two men will work.  And oh man, do these men know how to heat up a kitchen.  Scott and Leo are teammates and know how to share play on and off the ice.  If you like menage (M/F/M), read this book!

Been Busy

Blogaholic Designs”=

Ok, so I haven't been doing much on my blog lately.  And while I didn't have an excuse for August, I do have a reason for September.  I turned 40 this year and as you know that means the dreaded mammogram.  So I had my very first mammogram on Sept 2nd.  This was the Friday before Labor day so they told me they would call on Tuesday if they needed additional pictures.  So on Tuesday I received the call for additional pictures.  I wasn't worried because my mom and my girlfriend have had to go back because of dense breast tissue.  So I went in on Sept 7th.  This time they look at the pictures right away and they pulled me into a room told me the wanted to biopsy the calcifications they found in the mammogram.  Ok, this is where I majorly started freaking out!  So with the help of the women in the breast center, they set me up an appointment with a surgeon.  I met with my surgeon on the 8th and he agreed with the biopsy.  On Monday the 12th I had the biopsy and would have the results by Wednesday.  My surgeon called me on Tuesday and told me that I have DCIS.  Which is the lowest level of breast cancer from what I have read online only about 5% of calcifications end up being cancerous.  Lucky me right?  So I met with the surgeon again and the next step is a lumpectomy to remove the cells.  He goes over the risks and says about 20% of the time the procedure does not get all the cells and a second lumpectomy may be needed.  He also said I would not need chemo but would wait until an oncologist looked at my results to determine if I would need radiation.  So I had my lumpectomy on Tuesday Sept. 27th.  Now we are getting closer to the present.  On Friday the 30th, my surgeon called with the results from the lumpectomy and just my luck I'm in the 20%.  So now I have to have another lumpectomy to remove more cells.  Today is 2 wks from my lumpectomy, I feel great.  I meet with my surgeon again on Thursday, where I assume I will get the stitches removed and I assume we will talk about any additional treatment I may need after my second lumpectomy.  And as for my second lumpectomy that is happening a week from Friday.  Going to NYC Comic Con this coming weekend and I don't want to miss that.

Ok, so that's my story and to all my friends who are 40 and over, get your mammograms.  Early detection is key.  If you have a family history you  may need to get checked before you are 40.

Night Bites by Nina Bangs

Night Bites (Mackenzie Vampires, #2)Night Bites by Nina Bangs

Blurb
Cindy Harper has an ice-cream flavor for every emotion. Vanilla caramel fudge eases the stress of dealing with her weird and wacky guests at the Woo Woo Inn. But no sweet treat from her freezer is smooth, creamy, or tempting enough to cool down her dark fantasies about Thrain Davis.
Thrain is a man to be enjoyed on a strictly primitive level. Every woman who’s ever seen him smile wonders about the pleasure his mouth could give her and recognizes the secrets in his hard blue gaze. Too late Cindy realizes the danger of inviting an ancient vampire into her inn. The concept of fanged creatures of the night scares her witless. Besides, he forces her to examine her past when she’s just fine with her present. He does have an upside, though. Who needs ice cream when you have a hot and yummy immortal in your bed?

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another great book by Nina Bangs. This books takes place after the first book. In the first book we met Thrain Davis who is a friend of the hero of the first book Darach Mackenzie. Thrain takes it upon himself to find Darach's long lost daughter, the daughter he doesn't know he has. Cindy Harper owns a little B&B which caters to people who believe in the supernatural. Cindy has lived for quite a long time but she doesn't want to become a research project to find out why.

Again, Sparkle and Ganymede are back. Sparkle's goal in life is to cause chaos by setting up people who are completely wrong for each other. These two supporting characters are terrific.

Master of Ecstasy by Nina Bangs

Master of Ecstasy (Mackenzie Vampires, #1)Master of Ecstasy by Nina Bangs

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

BLYTHE SPIRIT
Her trip in time to 1785 Scotland was supposed to be a vacation, so why did Blythe feel that her stay at the MacKenzie pile of stones had her imagination working overtime, making helpful suggestions about every bump in the night: demon, considers you yummy take-out; really ugly gargoyle, wants to sleep in your bed.

So she wasn't at all surprised when the first hunk she met turned out to be Mr. Dark-Evil-and-Deadly himself, an honest-to-goodness vampire. His voice was a tempting way above 88.6 degrees, but when Darach whispered, "To waste a neck such as yours would be a terrible thing," she decided his pillow talk left a lot to be desired.

Dangerous? You bet. To die for? Definately. Soul mate? Just wait and see

My thoughts:

This was a great start to the Mackenzie Vampire series. You are introduced to 2 hilarious supporting characters that play a part this series as well as the Castle of Dark Dreams series. Ganymede and Sparkle Stardust are cosmic trouble makers. A woman from the future meets a vampire when she takes a vacation to the past. This vacation is important for Blythe, it's a working vacation. She has to complete a job without becoming emotionally involved with the person she needs to make happy. Darach Mackenzie is the subject of her new job and a 500 year old vampire.

The main characters Blythe and Darach are a great! I like the background of the Mackenzie vampires.
