Impact (Buckin' Bull Riders Book 1) by Cassandra Carr

Impact (Buckin' Bull Riders, #1)Impact by Cassandra Carr
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book. The heroine, Jessica, has been reading erotic romance and has taken an interest in BDSM. She starts visiting a club to see if it is something she would be interest in. Who can't related to that? There is a particular Dom that has captured her eye and during a slight altercation the Dom's hood is knocked off and Jessica realizes it is someone she knows, bull rider Conner. Conner doesn't want the people in the bull riding community to no about his preference of being a Dominant. When he sees Jessica is a natural submissive and she works for the NBT, he does his best to stay away.
I loved how Conner struggled to keep his secret and struggles to mesh what he wants in his personal life with his professional career.
There is a lot of oral sex in this book so be warned.

Spell Cat by Tara Lain

Spell CatSpell Cat by Tara Lain

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tara Lain branches into paranormal romance with Spell Cat. Killian is the most powerful male witch to be born in a long time. He is expected to marry within his race and a marriage has been arranged with a powerful female witch. The expectation is they will pass on their power to their children. Slight problem, Killian likes men. Not just any man but a human. According to the teachings of his people mixing it up with humans decreases a witches power. The sparks fly when Killian decides his power can afford the drain of one encounter with the human so he can experience on night on true happiness before he gets married.
This was a good story about a man faced with a choice of true happiness or the obligation to his race.

Cold As Ice by Cassandra Carr

Cold As IceCold As Ice by Cassandra Carr

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cold As Ice is the second book in the Buffalo Intimidators series by Cassandra Carr. And how does she top the first series with Scott, Kelly and Leo. Oh how about adding an third guy. Luc, Jake and Carter, oh my! Eva is one lucky woman! Ok so I really enjoyed seeing Scott, Kelly and Leo. Would have loved to have seen the commitment ceremony between Scott, Kelly & Leo but that isn't relevant. Of the three men, we have two ready to commit. And I love the little tension that goes on. I mean this is a relationship with 3 men, it can be all sunshine and rainbows right? At one point I wanted to smack these men upside the head. The Buffalo Intimidators team are falling ill and Eva told her men to watch their health after starting a new supplement. And do they listen to her, NO! Ugh!

If you like menages this is a great book and if you are not into M/M there is no need to worry there is no M/M in this book. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Fire Balls by Tara Lain

Fire BallsFire Balls by Tara Lain

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tara Lain does it again. If you like M/M romance I recommend this book. Hunter is a gorgeous gay firefighter and doesn't flaunt his sexuality. Rodney is an openly gay artist and flaunts what he's got. Rodney has been lusting after Hunter in secret. Hunter meets Jerry, Rodney's friend and sometimes model, while admiring Rodney's artwork. Jerry is the surfer and asks Rodney to help him woo Hunter. Rodney doesn't think he is good enough for Hunter. But when the firefighter and the artist are forced together during a modeling session, sparks fly. I love Hunter's journey to happiness and acceptance. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Talk to Me by Cassandra Carr

Talk to MeTalk to Me by Cassandra Carr
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cassandra Carr's Talk to Me is a good read.  Finding love in the workplace is something I can relate to.  Although my cubicle has never seen the action that radio studio has.  I was tortured (in a good way, of course)  while Drew learned to break the wall surrounding his heart.

Review of Head Games

Head Games (Buffalo Intimidators, #1)Head Games by Cassandra Carr
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cassandra Carr's Head Games is a great read.  I love reading how this normal girl struggled coming to terms with how a relationship with two men will work.  And oh man, do these men know how to heat up a kitchen.  Scott and Leo are teammates and know how to share play on and off the ice.  If you like menage (M/F/M), read this book!

Been Busy

Blogaholic Designs”=

Ok, so I haven't been doing much on my blog lately.  And while I didn't have an excuse for August, I do have a reason for September.  I turned 40 this year and as you know that means the dreaded mammogram.  So I had my very first mammogram on Sept 2nd.  This was the Friday before Labor day so they told me they would call on Tuesday if they needed additional pictures.  So on Tuesday I received the call for additional pictures.  I wasn't worried because my mom and my girlfriend have had to go back because of dense breast tissue.  So I went in on Sept 7th.  This time they look at the pictures right away and they pulled me into a room told me the wanted to biopsy the calcifications they found in the mammogram.  Ok, this is where I majorly started freaking out!  So with the help of the women in the breast center, they set me up an appointment with a surgeon.  I met with my surgeon on the 8th and he agreed with the biopsy.  On Monday the 12th I had the biopsy and would have the results by Wednesday.  My surgeon called me on Tuesday and told me that I have DCIS.  Which is the lowest level of breast cancer from what I have read online only about 5% of calcifications end up being cancerous.  Lucky me right?  So I met with the surgeon again and the next step is a lumpectomy to remove the cells.  He goes over the risks and says about 20% of the time the procedure does not get all the cells and a second lumpectomy may be needed.  He also said I would not need chemo but would wait until an oncologist looked at my results to determine if I would need radiation.  So I had my lumpectomy on Tuesday Sept. 27th.  Now we are getting closer to the present.  On Friday the 30th, my surgeon called with the results from the lumpectomy and just my luck I'm in the 20%.  So now I have to have another lumpectomy to remove more cells.  Today is 2 wks from my lumpectomy, I feel great.  I meet with my surgeon again on Thursday, where I assume I will get the stitches removed and I assume we will talk about any additional treatment I may need after my second lumpectomy.  And as for my second lumpectomy that is happening a week from Friday.  Going to NYC Comic Con this coming weekend and I don't want to miss that.

Ok, so that's my story and to all my friends who are 40 and over, get your mammograms.  Early detection is key.  If you have a family history you  may need to get checked before you are 40.
